1919 - Baltimore
About This Spot
Stepping into 1919 on Fleet Street is like slipping into a welcoming embrace of Baltimore’s vibrant local spirit. The air carries the hum of easy conversation and the gentle clink of glasses, with an eclectic mix of artwork and retro curiosities lending a quietly creative vibe to the space. It’s the kind of place where time slows down just enough to savor the moment without rush—a relaxed yet lively bar that invites you to settle in and stay a while.
The pace here is unhurried but alive, shaped by a rotating lineup of live local music that brings friends and neighbors together under one roof. Whether the night is buzzing with a favorite band or the room is humming with familiar chatter, 1919 thrives on its genuine sense of community and shared enjoyment. Friendly bartenders, who clearly know their regulars and welcome newcomers with the same warmth, add a personal touch that makes the experience feel less like a night out and more like a gathering of friends.
Though the food offerings are simple—think light, well-chosen snacks—the real draw lies in the drinks thoughtfully crafted to complement the music and atmosphere. The bar is pet-friendly, which only adds to its approachable, homegrown feel. Here, the city’s diverse rhythms come alive in small moments: a quiet chat with the bartender, a smile exchanged across the room, the soft spotlight on a local band finding their groove.
For those seeking a space that balances the familiar comfort of a neighborhood dive with an unexpectedly creative pulse, 1919 offers a rare kind of belonging—a place that feels simultaneously unpretentious and vibrantly alive. It’s not just a stop on the map but a lived experience, where every visit holds the promise of new stories shared and connections made.

Great local bar (no food other than simple snacks) with a wide range of live local music (not every night, check the band schedule). This is the kind of bar where everyone is welcome who loves live music, good drinks and friendly locals.

Wonderful bar. Shame it took me so long to find. The bartender was terrific and great to chat with. Made me feel welcome.

Nice local dive bar, great atmosphere. Come here to see my favorite band Red Bullett. The bartenders Nicole and Jen are awesome. Was fairly busy tonight. Love that it's pet friendly too.

Very cool female bartender has waited on us during both our visits here. Neat atmosphere. Art work, retro toys. Doesn't serve food. Quaint. We will be back.

Top 10 Baltimore dive bar. When there’s a good band, it’s top 3.

Great little bar, had live music while we were there which was amazing. Service was prompt, prices incredibly reasonable.
